Open Yappio

Pre-release

A chat app for game clans and guilds

Game groups already know what they want: voice that is easy to join, a place to schedule sessions and a way to show a screen. Yappio is planned to cover that with less clutter than a typical gaming server.

Yappio is in development and has not been released. Everything here describes what is planned. Last updated .

Voice that people actually join

Rooms in Yappio are open places, not calls. A member can drop into the clan room while they load a match, leave quietly when their game starts and come back afterwards. The live transcript lets someone who is in a noisy house still follow the plan.

Scheduling and the front page

The server homepage is where clan business goes.

  • Next up shows the upcoming raid or scrim and how many are going.
  • Pinned holds the rules and the current roster note.
  • Happening now shows which rooms are live.

Show, do not tell

Screen sharing is a two-step flow, and the studio can add a text overlay such as {viewers} watching or a blur box over a part of the screen you would rather keep private. Scenes let an officer switch between a starting-soon card and the main view during a review session.

Officers and roles

Roles control who can create rooms, edit the homepage and moderate. The For you inbox ensures an officer sees mentions and reports without reading the whole server.

What a clan actually uses

Most clans use a small set of things every day: a place to hear each other during a match, a place to agree when the next session is, and a way to show a play or a setup. Everything else in a busy gaming server tends to sit unused. A plan that focuses on those few things leaves less to maintain.

A drop-in room covers the voice part without a ring. A homepage can carry the schedule. The screen share studio covers showing a clip or a layout.

What is not planned

Yappio is not a game launcher, and it does not integrate with specific games or platforms at this stage. It will not replace the tools a clan uses to manage a roster or run a tournament, and it makes no claims about voice latency or quality under load, because it has not been released or tested at scale.

If your group depends on a specific bot or integration, the developer pages describe what is planned for bots. They are previews, and nothing there can be used yet.

Keeping a clan organised without a second job

An officer's work is often invisible: reminding people of the time, pinning the right link, answering the same question. A homepage that holds the schedule and the rules reduces how often it has to be repeated. A bot can post reminders if the clan wants one, once the bot platform exists. Neither replaces a captain who knows their people, but both can make the routine parts take less of their evening.

A short checklist for officers

Before moving a clan anywhere, agree three things. First, who is the owner of the new space and who can take over if they disappear. Second, what the schedule looks like and where it lives. Third, how new members find the rules. Settling these in advance matters more than the choice of app, and the answers will carry across to whatever you use.

Honest about the current state

Yappio is not a game overlay and has no game integrations planned for launch. It does not exist publicly yet. If your clan wants to hear when it does, join the waitlist.
